Happy Memorial Day

We had a nice visit with GaGa and Grandpa this weekend.
Friday night we got in late and the boys woke up to play at 10:00! After all the adults went to bed, the boys played for a while longer, then told Mommy and Daddy to get up and play with them!!! Henry has now slept with us for 4 nights because of a (suspected) ear infection, so we went to sleep with him hogging the bed again. Saturday, we went to view our photos of the Mommy and Me session we did with our wedding photographers. We chose 2 great portraits that we can't wait to get and hang up! Then we went and got Mommy's hair cut (finally!)

and then had a great BBQ of steak, corn, fruit salad, and broccoli. Yum! Today, we all shuffled off to the mall and got some new outfits for a wedding next weekend, 2 special toys, some hawaiian outfits, and a shirt for Daddy:

It was soooo hot!!
The drive home was uneventful and now we are sleeping in our own beds and trying to cool off from the day.

2 little fishies and 2 little models....

Today we got all dolled up and went swimming for the first time with the boys. We went to our indoor pool, and it was nice and quiet, not many people there. Both boys were a little unsure at first, but ended up liking it a lot. We went for ice cream afterwards.

Here's a couple pics of the boys in their high chairs, eating something! I can't remember what....

We had a modeling session this morning, too. Here's Owen in his bumbo seat, finding his feet! His shirt, from GaGa and Grandpa Waldrop says "Sleep, food, and rock n' roll"!

Here's Henry's modeling session on the couch and then a few shots with Daddy on the table. What cuties we have! We are unbelievably lucky!!!!

A Happy First Mother's Day

A quick illness update: The boys are doing much better today than they have been the past 2 days. Owen spent much of yesterday screaming, and we think some of it was tummy pain, but the other part of it was their first tooth! Both of them got their first little dagger of a tooth on the right side of their bottom gum. Big boys! Here's a picture of our big boy, Owen, giving himself his Pedialite:

I couldn't decide which Mother's Day pictures to share, so I am sharing quite a few. This is our Osh Kosh B'Gosh photo shoot - new overalls and 2 cute guys.

This is Owen cracking up and Henry biting his nails:

This is Henry's wonderful smile. We love it!

These are the boys looking and laughing at their silly Daddy who was doing a groovy dance in the background. I am sorry I didn't get a picture of the dance.

This is the beautiful ring that the boys gave me for Mother's Day. It's a turquoise stone with diamonds each side. It is gorgeous!!!! The picture doesn't do it justice, but I couldn't get a better picture. What a lucky Mom I am to have such great boys and such a great husband.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mommies and Moms-to-be out there!

RV has taken over!

The boys have the rotavirus. It's a yucky stomach bug that causes vomitting, diarrhea, and fever. Poor Owen had a bad fever this morning, and Henry is starting to get over his bout of RV. I think Owen is about 3 days behind Henry, so he should be feeling better by Monday or so. He slept most of the day today and wasn't able to keep much formula down, so we have been pushing the pedialite (which he does keep down) so that's good. He gave dr. mike a big smile, and he said "Oh, that's a great sign! Really sick babies never smile!" That was good to hear. It was sad to hear that "we can't imagine how nauseous he is feeling right now" though. It's hard to see them in pain and to not be able to do anything for them.

Todd and I ordered pizza for dinner, because - as Todd says - "if we're gonna get diarrhea, it may as well be from something good." Ha ha.

Cool dudes and a not so cool moment...

We had a nice walk last night through the neighborhood with our cool new sunglasses. The boys didn't like them so much when they fell down, so in the end, we just put them on their heads. So much for blocking the rays!

Here is Henry and Dad after our walk. (Or Dad and Elvis....)

Here's cool dude Owen after his walk.

Our not so cool moment began after our walk, and in between Owen and Henry's bath. Mom had just bathed Owen and we were lying in the hallway getting dressed. Dad was bringing a nude Henry into the bathroom when sh-- hit the fan....or more literally, it hit the floor. Henry dropped a deuce from about 4 feet up onto the bathroom floor. Dad didn't even notice, but Mom did and started laughing. Dad said "Something smells..." and Mom gestured to the floor.

It wasn't until later that we realized Dad had stepped in the poop and tracked it around the upstairs...

Then this morning, Henry had another blowout...and Dad had another "Something smells over there...." Hm, Dad, maybe it's the poop running down Henry's leg and onto the bouncy seat?! Henry had poop in between his toes, on his hands, on his clothes, everywhere. Calvin was going nuts. At any rate, we cleaned up this morning's mess with less gagging than last night. Hopefully Henry isn't getting sick and just ate too many prunes. Poor baby!!

We'll be sure to update if there are any more crappy adventures.

2 posts in one day?!

OK, I forgot to post 5 month pictures last week.
Here are the boys with me at 2 weeks old.
And here they are last week at 5 months old.
Can you believe it???

Minersville, Cinco de Mayo, and screaming babies

We arrived in Minersville, PA on Friday around 3:00 and met Christy, and her children Kalia, Sofiya, and Brittney. Owen immediately loved the jumper Debi had brought. We saw our friends Debi, Will, and Emma, and then met Debi's 2 other lovely daughters, Gabi and Steph. They were so sweet to help us carry our things in from the car. Owen and Henry played with the other babies while we waited for Dawn to arrive. :)

Once Dawn arrived, we had a yummy roast beef dinner made by Debi! The boys slept great in their pack n' plays for the first time.

The next morning, Henry took a turn in the jumper, and loved jumping with his arms through the legholes! He took a nice nap on the bunk bed after jumping for a while. Owen played with his new friend, Max.

Here is my only picture of Mr. Max and Ms. Anna! SUCH cuties:

Saturday afternoon, we decided to take the babies to a special place - the Yuengling factory!! We pushed our strollers up some serious hills to get there, but then the tour wouldn't allow sandals or strollers. So we took some pictures outside, walked around Pottsville, and then went to eat lunch. Henry and Owen had their first taste of ice cream, and just like Mommy, loved it! It got pretty hot for them after this, because we were going in and out of the car, waking them up, etc. so by the time we got home for our Cinco de Mayo celebration, we had a breakdown on all fronts, Mommy included.

Emma and Will:

Kalia and Sofiya with their hats over their faces:

First, Henry passed out with his drinks and sombrero on. He was so hot, he just had to be naked. Then, we tried to put on our cute colorful onesies Aunt Debi got us, but we were just too upset to pose for pictures. Mommy kept trying, though, and got some lovely shots of our purple faces.

The girls were perfect angels, though! Que princesas!!!

After we finally got the boys down for bed, the rest of us enjoyed a lovely Mexican meal cooked by Brittney, Dawn, and Debi. Yum-O! We enjoyed margaritas, gorditas, flautas, empanadas, and chips and cheese. It was delish!
We had a great time visiting our friends in Minersville and hope we can see them all again soon! Love you all!
Oh, and after the busy weekend, the boys BOTH slept through the night for the first time last night. 7:30PM-6:00AM. Way to go!!

Bathtub woes

I took an epsom salt bath. It was a humiliating experience. But it actually did help my symptoms. Unfortunately, shoving my fat ass into a m...
