music teacher top ten

Here are the ten things I have said most often in the first 2 weeks of school:

1. Put your shirt/skirt/dress down, we don't want to see your business!

2. Seriously?

3. HANDS TO SELF!

4. Do I come to your house and touch your xylophones?

5. Habla ingles?

6. Wait. Are you kidding me right now?

7. Don't talk while I am singing, please. I need everyone to hear the magic that is my voice.

8. Can we please pick an animal that actually makes a sound?

9. Um, it's a gong, not a bong.

10. Did I go to college for 4 years to become your babysitter/maid/mother/shoe tie-er??

Maybe if one of them actually had a bong, things would run a bit more smoothly.

OMG Jane, you crack me up!

So, did you manage to keep a straight face when asked about the "bong"?? LOL!

OH wow! Sheesh! Not sure if I should find it funny or annoying, but I think it's got to be a bit of both... UGH!

ps No, I can't really tell C&C apart unless I look at their hands :)

You better watch out, some enterprising young stoner may turn your gong into a bong!

I love top ten lists. Yours is awesome! I remember a music teacher of mine telling a boy who was looking in her desk, "Get you fingers out of my drawers!" That still cracks me up. I think I was in third grade but Mrs. Harms (my music teacher) and I burst into laughter after she said it. I don't think any of the other kids got it.
BTW---I am The T-Dude's wife! Caught your comment on his blog and thought I'd check you out! I am sure glad I did. You are a riot and your kids are gorgeous!

Oh they had better pipe down and listen to you sing. I've heard you sing and you are amazing.

Do things calm down after a few weeks? Being a teacher is a hard job, I definately could not do it!
When I was in high school we had a teacher who was fired for smoking pot on school property, he definately had a bong! lol
