Best Chorus Survey Responses
The 5th graders had to answer two questions about chorus this year. Here they are with my favorite answers.
1. What was your favorite thing about chorus this year?
"The funny way chorus is spelled."
"The play."
"Nothing."
2. If you could change one thing about chorus, what would it be?
"Not singing slow songs, only fast songs."
"Singing 'Let it Be'" (which we never sang....)
"The outfit I wore in the play."
"Maybe there should be not quite so many concerts and plays."
"We wouldn't have to sing." (Interesting.....it IS chorus.....)
"The music."
"No more substitutes."

To pack or not to pack
Every year at school we are given a stern warning that we should never, under any circumstances, put anything away for the summer before the children leave. Because if we did that, the students would know that summer is close and they will *gasp* STOP paying attention because they will know that we have already checked out for the year. Never mind that they know their report card grades are due 2 weeks before school gets out, or that teachers are arm wrestling over the Disney movies in the library because we are out of crap to teach. No, we must not pack up anything!!
But, people, what if you are pregnant? I am not about to lug 80 children's books from bookshelf to closet, carry 10 xylophones down the hall to storage, and possibly get kind of sweaty taking posters down as my amniotic fluid runs down my legs on the last day of school!
So I am being veerrrryyyyy sneaky. Each day, a few things get put away, or thrown away, or hidden. The trick is to leave the crap on the walls so it doesn't look too bare. I also made my sub a list that says "How to Pack up the Music Room" so it looks like i haven't already done everything. But seriously, do I want to come back from summer vacation to a trashed out classroom? Do I really want to find that my sub kept my coffee mug full of coffee in the closet because they weren't sure what to do with it? And finally, do I want to have to call out the search dogs come August because some doofus sub hid my conductor's baton? I NEED THAT, DAY ONE!!! How will I control the kids without my conductor's baton?
Nope and nope.

oh my god, you guys
My baby ticker says 26 days.
This means that anywhere between now and 26 days (please god, not longer) I will have to go through labor. LAY. BOR. This baby has to get out somehow. And the way babies come out isn't a picnic. The first time, I was shocked and unprepared. This time, I know what happens. And I don't like it, not one bit.
On another note, here are some new sentences from the boys that Todd and I have been enjoying lately:
-"Mommy, get OUT of my ROOM!"
-"Daddy, go AWAY!"
- "Uh oh, I dropped my golf ball!"
- "Mommy, get OUT OF MY ROCKING CHAIR!"
- "No, Mommy, I don't like fish sticks, I want waffles!"
- "Hi Daddy, did you get donuts?"
- "I WANT TO SLEEP IN MOMMY'S BED!"

Once baby the third arrives, we won't be "bedrest to boys" anymore. We'll need a new name.
Any suggestions?

Fun at the Farm
Today we went to a local park that has farm animals and a fun playground. The boys had a great time playing on the tractors and the climbing wall on the playground. Oh, and those of you that keep asking for a shot of my pregnant belly will have to settle for the stand-in we took a picture of at the bottom. We could be twins.
New Bikes!
Daddy surprised us with new bikes yesterday! We were so excited to go out and try them. They have pedals!! Henry is very concerned about getting the pedaling correct, and gets frustrated at times, but is starting to get it (downhill, at least). Owen is content to sit and walk his feet to make his go. To each his own! The new helmets are a hit, too. Thanks, Daddy!
Happy Mother's Day!
