Two ends of the spectrum
We found out today that Baby #3 is a girl. We are thrilled. The boys will be great big brothers, and we are so excited to meet her in June.
Tuesday is dying. I can't imagine the pain the Whitt family is going through. How you hold your daughter while she slips away is the worst thing I can imagine. How do you get through this? I imagine they find so much strength in their other children, who are so wonderful and beautiful. I wonder if I would ever have the strength they have, or the will that Tuesday has. JK's blog said Tuesday giggled this morning and that gave me a smile. The picture here is when I first met the girls in Roanoke.
Wherever Tuesday is going, I know she will be in peace.

Little Bird
You can go to the Whitt blog HERE and leave a comment for their strong little bird, Tuesday. News no one ever wants to hear has been given to this beautiful family and they will need strength to get through this. Their family is an inspiration to me and have taught me so much about how I want to live my life. Not a day goes by that I don't think of precious Tuesday. She's my hero.
Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.

RIP Mensa Mouse
Remember the MOUSE? We had started calling him Mensa Mouse because he has been living here since last winter. He was becoming part of the family. Unfortunately, in our latest endeavor to transform the basement into a playroom, we decided that our little houseguest had to go, seeing as we didn't want the boys playing amongst mouse turds. So, we set traps, more traps, more traps. Finally, last night....victory. The glue traps did it. Poor MM. And poor Todd who had to....dispose of him.
Empire Carpet is now laying some lovely Berber in the basement. It's going to be awesome down there!

For Tuesday
These beautiful pendants have been made specially for Tuesday by Mark, a wonderful designer at HomeStudios. My good friend Sharlene went to him and asked him if he would be willing to design a piece for her to be sold for a fundraiser and instead he has designed two beautiful pieces and is offering 10% of his profits for ALL sales from now until Valentine's Day to go towards Tuesday's fight against neuroblastoma. This includes purchases of any of the items in his store! This is a HUGE gift! These pieces are incredible, affordable & handcrafted on Scrabble tiles! There are so many beautiful designs to choose from and even gift sets that include the necklaces as well. Please take the time to look at his pieces and remember that you are helping a very sick little girl in the process.
Please go HERE to see these beautiful pieces. Thank you!

* If you do make a purchase, please put "FOR TUESDAY" in the comment section on your ETSY form so that Mark knows this is for the fundraiser.
Note: Due to the already high demand (thank you!), many people have told me they go to purchase something and it says sold out. If this is the case, scroll to the very bottom of the page and select contact seller and let him know what you want. He will email you back and make sure you get it!

I, Too
By Langston Hughes
I, too, sing America.
I am the darker brother.
They send me to eat in the kitchen
When company comes,
But I laugh,
And eat well,
And grow strong.
Tomorrow,
I’ll be at the table
When company comes.
Nobody’ll dare
Say to me,
“Eat in the kitchen,”
Then.
Besides,
They’ll see how beautiful I am
And be ashamed—
I, too, am America.

A Mercy
I'm a big fan of Toni Morrison and even though I never made it through her last book, Love, I did make it through the latest book, A Mercy. Nothing will ever meet the caliber of Beloved or Song of Solomon, but this was good. It was short, so I could take my time with her sometimes difficult writing and not feel like it was never going to end. The story was interesting, and while you don't really get the purpose of the story until the end, it is a worthwhile read. There are some strange parts, as there always are in Morrison's books, some that I am sure have much deeper meaning than I will ever understand. I guess I need to read it again with some Cliff's notes in a few years.

the saga continues.....
So, after being expelled from daycare #1, we find ourselves at daycare #2 getting this comment: They cried for three hours. I think Mama just needs to quit her job.
Hm! Ya THINK? Maybe we wouldn't be NEEDING DAYCARE if I could just QUIT MY JOB!
So now we are finding ourselves back at daycare #1 until we find daycare #3 to be a perfect match.
Breathe.
