My most embarassing.
As a music teacher, I celebrate March as Music in our Schools Month. (This year the boys and I will just pretend). One year, I videotaped all the classes in our school for the school news show. Each class did a song that we had practiced. This one particular day, a few parents had come in to watch the news with their kids because their class was on the news. Roll tape. As I am listening to it from my desk, I think "jeez, I can't believe how bad they sound." And then it happened....my voice on the tape, frustrated, angry, and surprisingly calm (in an eerie way): "I have told you eight million TIMES NOT TO FORGET THE WORDS-" Just then, the tape is cut off and I am sprinting to the newsroom. Apparently, someone forgot to cue up the tape. And that someone was me. Everyone in the school, including the principal, visiting parents, and every student and teacher enjoyed my performance that morning. Just humiliating. Thank goodness they cut it off when they did because I may have said much, MUCH worse things.

My principal after the incident: "Well, Jane. I guess I won't use that tape as a classroom observation. We'll just pretend it never happened." (and not in a funny way....)
