Bumbo Time!

Mom stopped at Target last week and got the boys their first Bumbo seat. Now she has to go back and get another because they love it so much!!! This seat is a relatively new thing that helps babies with strengthening their necks and backs because it makes them sit up. We had a fun time sitting in our Bumbo and Henry even took a nap on the dinner table in it.

We had a good weekend hanging out with Mom and Dad - we slept too much, though, and had a LONG night last night!!! But, we will hopefully get back on schedule with Miss Pat at daycare. We had our first try of rice cereal Saturday night. We ate well, but our tummies didn't like it so much yet. So, we'll wait a few weeks and try again. We had fun eating with a spoon, though!!

And finally, a pic of Owen in his Ralph Lauren outfit grandma Bills sent him. Too stylish!!!

Back to the grind.

I returned to work this week. The kids at school gave me a great welcome, as did my co-workers. Flowers, cookies, and big welcome signs were waiting when I arrived. It was very nice. The day went well, and I was feeling great! Today I am more tired, but it's going to take some getting used to.

Henry and Owen did well at daycare. They both pooped, which was great news since now we know we won't have to change a poopy diaper for a day or two. :) Last night they slept pretty well, but this morning was a rough start. It'll get better, since today was the first "real" day we had to get out of the house (yesterday I had a 2-hour delay from snow!) So, we'll get the hang of it. Patience.

No, I can't imagine pushing out a baby this big...

So, some babies are born at 8 pounds! WOW!
Henry weighed 8 lbs 12 oz at his appointment Wednesday and Owen weighed 8 lbs 4 oz! Big boys!!! We are excited.
A few close friends came by today to meet the boys and it was fun! I was so excited to show them off.
We are preparing our house to put on the market, which is very stressful. Then we will plan our move to Richmond, once the house sells. Hopefully it won't take TOO long. I HOPE!!!
Off to bed early for some much needed sleep!
G'night!

All newborn now, baby

We have outgrown our preemie clothes! Hooray! The boys are now wearing all newborn clothes, and lookin' cute! Here's a picture of them in their matching lion outfits - Owen is in the overalls and Henry in the pants.

We have our 2 month doctor's appointment tomorrow, and are excited to see how much the boys weigh. We are also hoping to get them more help for their reflux, as it seems to be getting worse lately. Hopefully we can get them some medicine to help with that. They are also getting their first round of shots - yikes! I am sure Mom will cry right along with them.
The stress of putting a house on the market will hit us soon as we have to rearrange our entire house and clean the bejeezus out of it to get it ready. Taking care of twin boys, 2 dogs, and now getting the house together may put me over the edge. But we'll get it done.
If you want to buy a house, call me!

Photo Shoot

We had a couple of hours of awake time from the boys...so we took some photos!! Now they are taking a quick nap before they eat again. (Henry is wearing stripes, Owen in blue truck outfit)
I stood on the scale today with Henry and according to MY scale, he's 7 pounds! Can't be too accurate, but exciting. And of course that meant I had to see what I weighed....not a pretty picture. I thought everyone said with twins you lose the weight with no problem! WHAT!?

We finally came home...

It turns out that Todd's "flu" was actually viral meningitis! Goodness! We spent Thurs-Mon at my Dad's house and let Todd recover at home. His parents cleaned the whole house and made it very nice to come home to. Todd's fever hasn't returned since last night, so I am hoping that it will stay gone, especially since we came home today! The boys have missed their Daddy and I've missed him, too!! I can't wait until I relax a little so we can all kiss him!

Remember, if you have a stiff neck and fever, go to the doctor ASAP! I wish we had. Thank goodness it was just the viral kind.

And wash your hands!!!

Of all the things to happen...

Todd has the flu!! Seriously. The coughing, aching, fever of 102 flu. The babies and I immediately moved to the living room and I've been sleeping on the couch....again! I thought the bed rest adventure was over! No, it's not that bad being on the couch, it's just bad panicking and worrying that my preemie boys will get the flu. That would be absolutely horrific. A lot of people thing that the boys aren't preemies once they get to their due date or get to a certain weight...but the fact is, they are preemies forever, and their immune systems are not as strong. So a bug like the flu would be a nightmare. An adult comes down with the cold, and the preemies get a BAD respiratory disease that can be fatal. Some people think we are being anal, but it is very serious. At any rate, it's been 4 days since Todd started showing symptoms, so hopefully we won't get it. I am taking Tamiflu, and even though it probably won't make a difference, it gives me some hope!
Another sad thing is that we sent the dogs to a friends house until the chaos ends. It is so sad to not have them around. I know Todd is missing the only family member that would snuggle with him, too. It's sad, but hopefully they can come back this weekend when Todd is feeling better. I'll tell ya what, if his fever comes back tonight, I am paging the doctor. 4 days of fever is unacceptable!
OK - off to my 6 weeks postpartum appointment. Hopefully both boys won't wake up while I'm gone or mother-in-law may panic. I have already said that calling Todd down to help, even with a mask and gloves - is NOT an option!
Fingers crossed for no disease spreading!!!

A week of firsts!

We have had a busy week! We went on our first walk, had our first baths, and made our first pitcher of formula! :) Here's Dad and Jamison getting to know Henry!

Bathtub woes

I took an epsom salt bath. It was a humiliating experience. But it actually did help my symptoms. Unfortunately, shoving my fat ass into a m...
