Naturally this cover has gotten lots of comments here in Democrat heaven. Most people I've talked to believe, as I do, that the lasting effect will be the image created for the redneck, super-conservative, non-thinking person. Those people don't read the New Yorker, don't get the sophistication of the humor, and will see the cover literally. We'll see this again and again on the Move-on, Swift Boat types of sites and ads as the campaign heats up later in the summer. Too bad that the New Yorker's type of humor will be totally misunderstood by Joe Six Pack. Mom

I got in a fight with my aunt and her friend over sending me an email about him being muslim. People are so ignorant. Can't wait to see dear Auntie in a couple weeks.....
Honestly, I could care less about what religion he is. I just don't like his politics and really really don't want socialized medicine.
Socialized medicine would be a welcome relief to many families that cannot afford health care. There are kinks that have to be worked out, but when you compare the US to countries that have socialized healthcare, it becomes clear that we are below the bar when it comes to helping our needy families that have no way to pay for the services they need.
